Default Mi tags

I will be purchasing my Michigan dear tags this weekend and had a thought. If it is $30 for a combination tag and $15 for a solo tag and I can take a buck or doe for my first dear on both, what is the advantage to buying the combination tag? Can't I just buy the $15 tag and after I stick my first deer, just go buy another?

Well the benifit is if you buy a combo tag is it is good for bow or gun, you can usethe first one for a doe and the second for a buck if you are bow hunting or if you are only bowhunting you can use both for does only. gun you have to use the first as a any buck tag and the second as a 4 on one side or better. If you just purchase a bow tag you will only get one tag and then buy a gun tag you will only get one tag!! I hope that helps.. Walt

I only bow hunt and last year I just purchased a single tag. So you are saying that if I purchase a combo tag and I bow hunt only. I can take 2 doe?

Yep!!!! The first is an either or tag so if you use it for a doe your second resricted tag can be used for a doe for bow only!! Walt

You want to use your restricted tag first! If you shoot a Doe with your bow, tag it with the restricted 4 point tag so you can still shoot what ever you want!
