Its a bit late in the season to start thinking about food plots. But white clover, sugar beets, sorgum sedan, work well. Check with your local coop to see what they recomend for your area. A good soil test should tell you what will work better in your area and you can get just abotu anythign at your local co-op.

Oats and winter wheat with ladino clover for this fall, early season and beyond. Next year the wheat and clover will return. Mow it often each year and the clover will be great for all seasons for years to come.

Rape works well and will be up for season, it only takes a few weeks tocome up, make sure you have a ph test done, You can actually take a soil sample to your Local RiverCounty Coop and they can do it for ya right their, I would do a mix of Rape and something else and it comes up multiple years without replanting, if you see bare spots just replant immediatly and you will be o.k... Be sure to water if possible especially when it is young to help the roots grow deep.. Good luck

Last year we planted Buck forage oats and Gander Mtn. Fall forage.........the oats came up green and thick, but the deer hardly touched them........the cheap gander forage however was hit hard right through dec. as long as the snow wasn't covering it the deer were in it.

We planted right about this week last year..........would be planting today but it's finally raining, and doesn't look like it's gonna quit anytime soon.
