public land in Springfield?
I was at my daughters volleyball game the other night and talked to a guy that said there was some nice public hunting ground around springfield, Illinois. He said it was about 1400 acres.
Just wanted to know if anyone new the name of this place?
thanks

Site M/Jim Edgar SFWA????
I wouldn't say it's 'right around' Springfield, but it's fairly close. That's the only true public ground I can think of over there.

Started out as Site M. Also known as Jim Edgar-Panther Creek too. I wonder what area they'll name after George Ryan and Rod...

In regards to Sangchris. Awesome place to hunt sheds. Hunting wise, Its bow only, Must take stands down when done hunting for the day. Most guys take their boat to get to their hunting spots. I think they have a 8 or 10 point minimum. Alot of albino deer frequent the area also.

Ah yes, Sanchris. I wasn't even thinking about the 'other' side of springfield.
I wouldn't worry too much about re-naming anything, that will be taken care of when Roddy sells it to the highest bidder.
