Wisconsin Conservation Congress Hearings April 16, 2007.

Monday, April 16, 2007 at 7:00 PM
If you have an interest in natural resources, conservation, hunting, fishing, trapping or outdoor recreation in Wisconsin then the Spring Hearings are for you.

On Monday, April 16, there will be 72 public hearings, one in each county starting at 7:00 p.m. where residents interested with natural resources management have an opportunity to provide their input by non-binding vote and testimony to the Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Board and the Conservation Congress on proposed fishing and hunting rule changes, Natural Resource Board and Conservation Congress advisory questions through the questionnaire.
County residents have the option to run for election to the Conservation Congress and to elect delegates from their county to represent their county views regarding natural resources on the Conservation Congress. Also, residents have the opportunity to bring forth new conservation issues of a statewide nature to the attention of the Conservation Congress through the resolution process.

Complete Spring Hearing Questionnaire

This is the place where change is made. We need ALL hunters to come and voice there opinion. New resolutions can be introduced that could dramatically change hunting and fishing in Wisconsin.

Is there a opportunity to ask questions ?
I have hunted turkeys with a bow since 1996on public land and would like to see a archery only season or area similar to MN.They have both! and only a hand full of turkeys...
This will be my 3rd year going overthere and can't wait.

Yes, you can ask any questions of your delegates you like.

There is also a sample resolution form on the DNR web site.

If you want an archery only season for turkey, introduce a resolution. The resolution gets voted on that night at your local hearing. If it passes and the CC likes the idea, they'll bring it to a state wide vote.

Good luck
