Just got my Illinois FOID card Renewal...

Just came in the mail & they use your drivers license photo. The funny thing is my photo is from 1999. I last renewed my license through the mail & just got a renewal sticker. So now by the time my FOID card expires in 2012 my photo will be 13 yrs. old. This is8 yrs. older then the one that was on my old FOID card. Just thought this is a strange way to do it.[8D]

So did it come automatically or did you have to send in a renewal form? I renewed mine in late 2005 and they were still using the old process where you had to send in a pic.

My most recent renewal was in '05 and it has the pic I mailed in. But to my knowledge, you still mail your pic in, but they use the stored DL photo on the card. Just another way to verify your ID.

Just mailed mine in a couple weeks ago and I had to send a new pic in with the renewal

I believe that for new applications or for those that have expired, the application is sent in with the required photo.

If they utilize the computer captured image from your driver's license it shouldn't really be any problem as your driver's license will have the same image for ID purposes.

Best news here is that more people are now working in the FOID office which means the long waits and hold ups should be a thing of the past.

Maybe the ISP told him that if they didn't get more people they were gonna try to get a bill passed making the fines come out of HIS pocket.

They automatically sent me the renewal form but I had the gun shop Process the whole thing for me, pics. & all.
