Default WI Hunters!

Hey, I'm just sick of seeing the giant IN and MI hunters threads that just keep growing, so I decided to try to start one for us Wisconsin boys. Post anything related to the great outdoors of WI here!!!

I've been too busy with my new baby boy and getting things ready for Canada for the summer, so I haven't been out. I usually make one trip to my camp in the winter to jig for walleyes, but this year its probably not going to happen. I'm gonna miss pulling walleye after walleye out of 5 feet of water.

I haven't done any Ice fishin for years. None of the lakes had been freezing over well enough to go out and fish on, and the ones that did freeze over weren't very productive. I may try to go out once or twice now though. I live in Racine for the school year and hear of plenty places that have some decent ice fishing. Does anyone know if the harbors are any good anymore? My dad told me storiesof goin and fishin the harbors during the winter and pulling out some monster pike and occasional salmon from the Racine Harbor and Kenosha Harbor.

Has anyone started any scouting yet. I plan to go home at the end of the month and do a couple scouting days. I have two areas I want to check out including the area where I got my buck this year.

Just because it has been posted a number of times lets just have a continuous discussion of it - CWD. What are your thoughts on the topic? Is it a Madison Treehugger scam? Any other ideas, thoughts?

Driven by the insurance industry to cut down the herd.

That's another real common one where I am from. Supposedly the Columbia-Sauk County area has the highest numbers in the state. Dont know for sure, but the insurance reason is popular because of that.

The Columbia-Sauk area issupposed to have the highest number of deer, period. I'm sorry, I shouldve been a little more clear on that one.
