I would concentrate on the southwest corner. I used to lease 400 acres that bordered the park on that side. Great hunting around there. Good luck!

Our family farm is 2ominutes from there, heard some good things about it...that week might be better than you think....especially when you talk about pressure....

Southeast corner is also good, as is any area cut off from the public by the lake itself.

Lots of oaks in the park, but I'd hunt where there is corn. Catch 'em between bedding and feeding and WHAM!

Good luck

No, that road dead ends on the farm that I used to lease. Great area. Never killed anythign huge (over 170") there, but we saw a few really nice ones. Lots of 100-140" deer. Huge population of deer, and it has only gone up since I was there.

I had one stand right on the border...filmed a piebald fawn multiple times there in early January. He would come out of the park to feed in bean stubble. Never did get close enough for a shot.

Dayna, I've got635 Acres leased off the SE corner of the park. This is the first year for this lease but my scouting trips have proven very encouraging. It is a BIG area! I'll be there from Oct 25 through shotgun season. Maybe we'll bump into each other. Are you staying nearby?
