hey guys i am leaving next wed. for missouri and will be hunting for 9 days on private property in the ozarks i was wondering if the rut has came in yet or if i will hit it about right??? thanx

The bucks are out in the daylight, they seem to be real close to the rut. Seeing rubs and such, some response to grunt calls. Saw a buck chasing off a spike. So if its not the rut, they are moving around and looking for the first doe to go into estrus.

Be psyched!! I wish I was out there right now! WIll be all weekend.

my daughter killed a nice ten on the youth hunt this weekend and it was chasing hard on a doe.they are on the prowl hard lookin just not quite time yet but it is getting closer.

Yep, the waiting is killing me, also. I will be leaving NC on the 14th and don't have to be back to Ft Bragg until the 26th. The season here is terribly SLOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!! Besides, I'll take real whitetails over puppy dogs any day.

Sorry guys!! Even though I am up in the n.w. corner of the state, I have been informed that the season is cancelled.
No more deer left to shoot.
No reason to come here anymore.
Save your travelin' money, and use it elsewhere.
It's all over here before it gets started.............................
