Default Lip curl

Can any one tell me if does,(doe) lip curl? I observed an anterless deer do a lip curl, and thought that only bucks lip curl. After the lip curl, this deer stuck it's tail between its legs and took off like a bat out a hell. Did it smell a dominant buck in the area? Or did it smell me? I was 20 feet up in my stand with a favorable wind.

Yes I believe does also lip curl. It's just not noticed as much because most people only watch deer in the fall. And in the fall, when the bucks are in rut, they lip curl a lot, whenever they smell something unusually and trying hard to smell it, or a lot of the time, just searching for scents.Last Friday and Saturday night, I had 2 nice bucks lip curling, when the wind changed and blew right toward them. Does will do it to, but rarely, compared to bucks.
