Default WI Extra turkey permits...pleasant experience

.......NOT!!!!!! I signed on the computer at 11:30AM with the intention of buying an extra permit. I never saw the license/permit purchasing area. I headed off to a few local stores to be greeted by a large line of other "happy hunters" who were advisedthe system was down. Most likely due to overloaded entries throughout the state. I am very disappointed that the WI DNR was not better prepared as everyone but them had to know it was going to be a mad rush for these permits. DNR, get your game together when you come up with these new, bright ideas to make money.

I was in a line until 12:40, then tried things online for 20 minutes. The store owner showed up at my door at 1:00 and said the system was back up and running so I was able to get my tag around 1:15.

Hey Kyler were you at the Sportsmans Warehouse in New Berlin?? I was there and thought about getting another permit until I saw the line. I went back to the gun department and bought a muzzleloader instead!

I go to fleet farm and stand in line I was 11th or 12th. They gave out numbers. It hit 12.01pm and they called 55. he gets his tag. They call 56. Then there was a nice ling 30 min wait. The security stands up and says the WDNR servers were down. Boy was I and alot of other hunters pissed. There was a good 3-4 dozen in there. So the security guy says we can still give out tags for Numbers 56 to 65. That right then in there got me even more pissed..I was Number 66. So I walked out. went to work. Went back after work and 4th week was sold out. So I got the 6th week cause I already drew 5th. What a bunch a BS

I ultimately got two extra tags. But the initial experience was BRUTAL at best.

I did not got to Sportsman Warehouse. I was home and then two trips later to Walmart I finally got my first tag. The follow up visit the following day was actually a pleasant experience.

I just wish the DNR/licensing people would plan ahead as they had to know these problems were going to exist.
