IL Foid card Prices

I have heard, and read that Illinois is looking at increasing the FOID card fee from $5.00 to $650.00. Has anyone else heard about this and know where it stands right now? If this happens the only people hunting will be the elite and the rich. I guess they think this will stop the gang bangers from buying there guns in Chicago, but last time I checked the bad guys weren't buying their guns at the local Wal Mart! We should all keep this in mind the next time we go to the electin booths.

I will give Blogajoke credit on this one. He has shot down the proposal every year since he took office. He says it is beacuse he promised voters he would not raise the price, and he is keeping his promise. Too bad he doesn't do anything else right, or in the best interest of the people in this state.

With the new legislation regarding the application and issueance of FOID's I think there will eventually be an increase here some time sooner than later, but not $650!

The new legislation (I haven't fully read it) provided for monetary fines for failure by the State Police to issue (or not) in a timely manner. Where's the money going to come from. Right - applicants and card holders.

As to the gang bangers getting buying guns in Chicago...........

They are buying guns in Chicago alright, but "on the street". There's no gun shops in Chicago. The gang bangers will not be affected by ANY laws because they deal illegally (stolen guns, straw buyers, etc....).

Did you know thereare folks in the UN who want to get guns out of EVERY civilians hands around the world.

Yes to both. I just can not understand how they can think that gun bans will keep guns off the street. Think about it, fully auto guns have been outlawed since the 30's or something like that, and they are definately being used. All the gun bans do is keep the hunters and shooters from being able to enjoy their sports. It also keeps the lawabiding citizens from owning guns to protect themselves and their families. Makes me want to shoot something.......

A thought from your next door neighbor:

The population of the state of Illinois must surely outnumber the population of the socialist state of Chicagoland , why not "rock the vote" statewide in a referendum to have the FOID card eliminated entirely ? The FOID card already violates your Second Ammendment rights , get enough people to vote against it and you won't ever have to worry about price increases again .

Just a thought guys .

Well, if Bill Brady gets into office, we may not have to worry about FOID cards for too long.

Brady even had a booth and the Deer Classic, he is an outdoorsman, and we need someone like this in the govenors role!!

Make sure you get out and vote so Blablowavich gets out!!

Primarys are just around the corner!!

There is legislation pending to repeal the FOID law.(I dont have the HB number handy right now).It probably won't get out of committee.

Topinka recieved an A rating from the NRA.
Brady is indorsed bu the ILSRA.

Gonna be a tough choice for this primary.
