Very nice buck...wow! But why shoot it in the neck? Probably ruined a lot of good meat..especially on a deer that size. I'm guessing he jerked the shot...then changed his story after he saw where he hit it.

Great buck though.

Holy moly. I've been in Vernon County so many times and never seen anything that big. Not too much forest there either. Mostly tons and tons of ginormous hills. This buck must have been hiding deep in those thick hill-bottoms. Amazing buck!

Thereare plentyof woods in Vernon Cty. Lived in the county for 35 yrs. and saw a lot of great bucks taken..certainly not as big as this one but many taken are P&Y and several B&C each year.

A friend sent me a picture from what I'm guessing was a cell phone. The picturesdon't do the deer justice but it's a better look at what he really was.

I'll be in Wisco visiting the woman's family all this weekend and next week. Hopefully I hit one of those things in her car. lol

Anyone know of any good lakes to ice fish on the southern part of Wisco? My future father in-law always talks about a lake called "kashcanian" or something...with HUGE northerns.

This is why I came to this site today...to see if I could find a photo of this buck. I was checking in my 140" rifle buck when this guy pulled up. Made mine look like a yearling! Stupid me, I was wishing I had my camera when I was at a gas station that most likely was selling disposables!! Oh well, glad to find it. We were guessing 240-260 gross, but only because we could think back to a friends KS buck that grossed 212 and netted 196 a few years ago, must not have been too far off. This buck also made my friends gross 212 look small! What a monstor!!! Funny thing was I believe it was a button buck, and a busted up little yearling buck they had in the back of the pick-up..they certainly were not looking for trophies by the looks of it.

What a buck, no offense to him but I bet some of those resident Wisconsin hunter's were p.o.'ed about a Florida boy getting that buck...
