MI Legal barrel length for rifle???

I think the shortest barrel length allowd in MI is 16 1/2"for a rifle, but my encore says not to use a barrel under 16" for a rifle. Does anyone know if it is a 16 or 16 1/2" legal limit?

Haven't heard of many rules like that, never really worried about it.. Curious? Where do you live in Central Michigan?

Im originally from the Grand Rapids area but I went to Ferris in Big Rapids and my parents still live in the area. Right now I am in lower MI, Niles area.
