Woo, ya state lands rough country. I hunt mostly private, but this year I've actually gone scouting around state land alot lately. Its pressured really hard here in Oakland and Livingston county, with a car on the side ofthe road every 100 yards. To my supriseI actually found a couple real nice secret spots though. Most of these "lazy" state land hunters just park and walk in 20 yards and plop down leaving literally hundreds of acres wide open to anyone who's willing to walk a mile or 2. There out there and I've seen a few wall-hangers on state land.

I hunt a lot of state land by middleville also as that is where I live. It does get hit yard but if you do your research you can up your odds for success.
