Default Trempealeau County Car Kill

Brings a tear to my eye. Here is one that some lucky hunter will not be harvesting. Did a number on the 1990 Dodge Daytona though.

I demolished my '01 Z71 b/c I swerved to miss a buck a couple years ago. Went off the road..over-corrected...smacked an old oak tree perfectly on the passenger side door. The girl who was with me at the time (PSYCHO ex) was all messed up...bled all over my truck. I was not wearing my seatbelt..but didn't have to...b/c I flew all the way over into her...so she padded my impact. Only good thing I got from her...

Moral of the story: wreck your vehical (and mess up your ex...damn I'm evil!)...and save the deer!

I hit the biggest doe i have ever seen in my life, doing 55 in a 1988 chevy beretta, absolutly destroyed my car and freaked my girlfriend out, but to top it all, it was bow season and i had hunted all weekend and not seen a thing. i hit the deer 2 min. from my house on the southwest side of indianapolis, i had no idea that there were any deer around there. i remember asking the dnr officer " NowI dont have to use one of my tags ifI keep this deer do I?"

When I check my deer in at the meat market...half of the checked in deer are usually car collisions (in bow season).

And people say we shouldn't hunt deer...

Yeah, up here in Ft.Wayne, I was driving home from taking my kids to daycare on Tuesday morning and to my surprise there wasa roadkill deer laying less than 100 yards from the entrance of CVS pharmacy! Right in the middle of town! It had two places to go, an industrial park or an office complex, there are NO woods around there! It's right on the corner of one of our main roads (Lima/US27 Pat should know that road)... I called the maintence guy, he met the sheriff there and got a roadkill permit, deer was in good shape, was a buck that someone had already cut the antlers off... I STILL am wondering where it was headed!

I have a couple of stories!

I was riding my Buell X1 Motorbike somewhere around the back roads of St. Croix WI at night. 80mh. A doe came running full speed from my left. No time to react except to brace for an impact. Luckily for me she only got far enough where I smacked her in the head with my left thigh. I didn"™t go down, but I got a hell of a tank slapper. I kept going and never looked back! I was riding sweep with a small group and didn't want to pull over on a soft shoulder in total darkness. I'm not sure what happened to the deer. It could have broken her neck, knocked her out, or probably kept running. It gave me a bruise about the size of a foot ball even though I was wearing full leathers with armor!

Another WI adventure! I was driving a 93 ford probe and nailed a doe in her hind quarter. I would have probably missed, but she bucked backwards to make a leap or starting to run. Nailed her solid with the front starboard side of the car. I spun around, hit a guard rail strait on, spun the other way, and got strait back on the road! Didn"™t even stall the motor! She ran about 100 feet into the grass and laid down. The Police called animal control to put her down because she had a broken hip.

Wow! How did that deer get around there?! I knowthe girls workingat Gander Mountain have said they've seen a couple deer in their parking lot early in the mornings..they come from that wooded creek ½ mile behind the building.

Crazy stuff.
