Default Illinois Land City Question Bethalto

Anyone know where I can go to find information on hunting regulations withing city limits. I live in Bethalto IL, Madison county and have a ton of woods behind me. I know the owner but don't know if hunting is legal or not. I'd be hunting with a bow but have looked on the DNR site and did a ton of searched but find nothing. Any suggestions of finding an answer to this? Thanks

I would imagine that is a city issue. I would think you need to check with the city if that chunk of woods is within city limits. If it is out of city limits, then you would just need to follow the guidelines for roadways and such.

Yes that would be the juristiction of the town. What you need to know is if there is a "projectile law". More than likely, any patrol officer could tell you that. If not, a call to the station would do it.

Thanks for the reply guy's. I will make the calls and hopefully get some good news. Would love to hunt behind the house, some big boys walking the woods.

That's a city issue. Back before I graduate H.S. and during the rut I had a 180+ class buck run right out in front of me while I was driving on the southern edge of the city limits. Started making calls the very next day. Unfortunately thy didn't allow bow hunting or any hunting for that matter within city limits although I know a few guys that hunted back there a time or two. My advice is to call city hall first and then go from there.
