Ill. Question?

I will be hunting the second gun season in Pike Co. Ill. and I want to use a muzzleloader. Can you use a muzzleLoader with a 209 primer system in Illinois. I just bought a new gun for this hunt and the way I read the regs, It is illegal. Appreciate any response.

Thanks, Il Hunter. I was fretting that I would have tooutfit my shotgun for this hunt. Now I can use my new T/C Omega.

If I remember right the regs state somewhere that 209's are legal primers. Also per my contact with IL DNR, regular rifle primers, pistol primers, etc. are also legal. So if you ever upgraded to PR bullets 25 ACP you'd be legal also.

Have fun with that Omega, I wouldn't trade mine for anything, that includes the encore. Shoots dead on to 100 yds, I can't say I've really tried beyond that only because I'm not comfortable doing so with open sights.

Thanks. I am looking forward to the hunt. I haven't sighted my Omega in yet but what I have herd they are a very accurate and reliable gun. Thanks for clarifying the Ill. regs.
