I wonder how they plan on verifying whether or not you actually took a deer, or if just anyone can fill the form out and they'll send you one.

Good question.
I would think they can check there computer to see if you called in a harvest.
Because you have to called in and write the # they give you on the tag, or something along those lines.

Another stupid system set up under Gov Blojovitch.

I personally feel that first day of shotgun season, around the time the check stations are piling up, their call in system is going to .....................

!

If a guy doesn't harvest a deer and wants a pin, all he's gotta do is do the call in on last day the tag is good and confirm, then he can get a pin. But that isn't such a big deal, alot of people collect the pins.

The big problem here is the way this is going to (or not) work. I predict that this years total harvest will be down 10-25% if you go by the numbers of people reporting (calling in or on-line). Alot of guys aren't going to want to "bother" with it. Alot of what I've been hearing is negative towards this new system.

BUT THE IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER is that we should all TRY to follow along and be nice little hunters. We need accurate numbers to balance the herd properly thru permit issuance in the future.

But anyway, I should be needing 2 pins please.

Thanks for the link, I know someone who was wondering where to go to get his pins.

Not gonna help me because I just found out I have nowhere to hunt this year.

Uncle Matt
I agree with you.
There are several other state's that now have or have had the call in system.
Just about all (other states) that have had anything to say about this change in IL.claim the system works fine. Could it be that there #'s have been wrong for so long they didn't see a change?

Myself I like to be able to hangd out at the check in station and see what everyone is taking.
