Default Illinois Bobcats

My neighbor said he has noticed alot of bobcats around his area this year. He said in fact he had two fighting in his yard in the middle on the night a day last week. That news really isnt to good for the turkeys. If you were to see a bobcat while say bowhunting would you shoot it? Idk if i would or not.

I would not shoot it. They are a protected species in Illinois. And besides, coyotes do more damage than bobcats could ever imagine. Their are a couple out at the farm I hunt, and I enjoy watching them. They mostly take mice, and the occasional rabbit.

Some guys should start refreshing themselves on the rules and regs BEFORE going afield again. Never count on last years r & r's as they change often.

I'd sure hate to be showing off my bobcat trophy and have the CPO get wind of it. It would be bracelet time for sure.
