Hello,
I recently moved to Colorado from Mississippi and am planning on getting after some thunder chickens this spring. My question to you is do you have any experience hunting around the Rifle or Silt areas. I have been seeing several groups of turkeys around on some private ranches, but am not too sure about the public areas around here. Any help that you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...I had to finally register and start to post. So did you ever check out bear lake or shoot that gobbler? I want to see pics of your previous gobblers. You can send them to elkaholic2008@hotmail.com My season is done I couldnt find the gobblers west of ft collins but I did find an awesome bull that was winter kill and scoped out some good areas where I think they will be earlier in the spring. Also I was told by a guy when I left that the gobblers stay high right on the snow line in that Trinidad spot. Any info on this or truth to it? Seemed wierd to me that I found great flocks of hens without a gobbler.

Lastly, on sunday were you on the west side of the private doing a little calling? I think I talked a little hen talk with you on suday at about 1:00. I chased a couple jakes up that mountain but couldnt catch them.
