    RR,

Without getting into a long explaintion of the events leading up to my missing the shot on a coyote this past saturday: other than just a plain miss !

Can you explain to me what happens to your POI when you have your objective set on 200 yards and you shoot at 50 yards ?

Do you know anything about Accuracy Systems Inc.? I was looking at custom rifles last night and I found their website. http://www.remington700rifle.com/ Have you heard anything on them at all. They are within a few hours of where I live, and I could probably swing the price on a couple of their guns. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Yah, I was reading about that online the other day how the BC changes with the pressure, temp, and humidity. So what all equipment or tools do you use when you hunt besides the pda and rangefinder? do you have a wind guage? Also, I was looking at a Remington 700 Sendero in 7mm RUM, but it doesn't come with a muzzlebrake, nor is it threaded for one. I can't afford a custom rifle. Do you have any suggestions?

Okay, next question. Do you have a range finder, or do you use your mil dots to range? I have a Leica that ranges to 800, but would need something different to range out to 1000. Also, do you have a website that explains using mil dots well. I am starting to understand, but the explanations I have found so far are lacking. Websites with information on calculations for adjusting to windage, humidity, temperature, etc would also be appreciated. I want to figure all of this out before and be familiar with everything before purchasing anything. I am finding out that it is far more involved than looking at a ballistics table in a book and just going for it

So... now a question on the 20 MOA sloped base. I was reading a forum on that long range hunting website that you told me about and they mentioned them, but I have never seen one or known anyone that had one. Do they just mount the scope so that it has 20 MOA up, thereby making it so your "zero" at closer shots in the negative elevation range of the scope and gives you greater elevation range within the scope for longer shots? If so, is it still capable of adjusting down enough for 100-200 yard shots if needed? I'm asking because you never know when a monster buck will be just over the edge of a hill that you were going to glass from and you need to take a shot from that shorter range...

Okay, I've got a bunch, so I'll just hit you with a couple at a time.

    1. I was looking at getting a 7 mm Rem. mag. or a 7mm RUM. Which would you suggest or do you have a better suggestion than those two. I was thinking 7mm just because of the high BC of the bullets available....

    2. to shoot out to 1000 yards do you just need a tactical scope or is there some sort of adjustable scope mount that you have to put on to get the extra elevation needed. I was looking at the Mark 4's that we discussed, and the specs show that they have 70 MOA of adjustment for windage and elevation. I'm assuming that is 35 MOA each way. Is that enough adjustment to shoot 1000 yards or do you need something else?

    3. Do you trim the inside and outside of your case necks? It seems like that is something that bench rest shooters do, but when shooting that far it seems like any accuracy advantage is important.
