I'm not sure. Admin/IT knows about the problem but I don't know if they can completely prevent it due to the process. A person signs up to be a member and provides a valid email address. Once that is confirmed, a person is now a member. Then they can post at will until another member complains about spam. Then we permanently ban that member name and account. I'm not sure a program can be written to fix that problem as it would require being able to determine new members' intent and reason for joining. I'm also not sure how spammers are getting around the process unless they are physically entering a biogus name and email addy to create an account. I agree that it's frustrating and time consuming.

Spam Filtering: To avoid spam, comments are filtered using Akismet and then manually approved. Do not be alarmed if you comment does not appear instantly. I do not check the spam folder more than once per day. Comments are required to use valid email addresses.
