Even before we set this up we had great bucks. My dad killed an 11 pointer in the 150" range less then 10 years ago, I killed an 8 pointer with a 20" inside spread in 2003 that scored in the 140-150" range(can't remember exactly),and one of my buddies killed an 8 pointer a little smaller then mine a few years after that. So yeh, we have great genetics and with our management have been seeing some great bucks since as well! Good luck out there!

Thanks, yeh we have been blessed with great genetics on our farm! By farm, I don't mean fenced either. We have about 220 acres bordered by a cousin with about 150 on one side and another cousin with about 250 on the other side. Neither of my cousins hunt and we have exclusive hunting permission from both. My family and 2 friends that we allow to hunt our land set up a management program a few years ago. Nothing under 8 points, has to be wider then the ears, and atleast older then 2.5 years. The only exceptions are older bucks that haven't reached these minimums. We all also kill atleast one doe a year each. So far it seems to be working pretty good!
