Fg would be too slow.. that's for a cannon or an old Brown Bess, and even in them, they shoot FFg. FFg is the right powder in a 12 gauge. I use FFg and get excellent results in both my shotguns.

    cayugad,

Been practicing up with Navy 12 gauge double for turkey hunting. Using 90 grams of FFg and 90 grams, same measure of number 6 lead. Read somewhere that maybe I should use Fg powder with the 12 gauge as it burns slower. Wondering if this is true and it might help with pattern, or is FFg the best to use for the 12 gauge?

    Thanks

    Jeff

480 pixel is my setting. I down load them to my computer. Then there is a program called Picasa 3. Its free software. Google it. It will find and organize all the pictures on your computer. You can also do editing on the pictures to make them better. Then when you decide what picture you want to display, export it to a file on your system. There it will re-size the picture to the 480 pixel for you. Then upload from that file to Photobucket. And out of that web site where you store your shared pics, it will come out the correct size. Any problems.. let me know. Glad to help.

You seem to be the person everyone seems to go to for most answers which is logical since you seem to be one of few that has been around on this site for a while. I've been hunting since 1962, 11 yrs young. MLing for the last seven an half. Far from knowing everything. Learn something new everyday. Been experimenting with BH since in hit the street. Still testing for the best combination. I am trying to break in to the posting and pic's. I can't figure out what your pixel setting is in your picture uploads. Any advise?
    Thanks, John

That would be a fair price. It really depends on how bad you want a White. I paid more then that for my M97 .451 but then.. I really wanted the rifle.

I found a new M97 Whitetail hunter for sale on gun broker. The starting bid is $300. In your opinion what do you think the rifle is worth?

On mine I use a .530 ball and a .018 patch. I was sent some .535 ball to try and they were TIGHT!!! I would have had to drop down to a .010 patch I believe. Although I think I could have forces a .015 patch and that bigger ball.

Dave - Regarding ur .54 GM barrel - I need to get an idea as to what size patch and ball you run down the bore. I know I am going to have to check my particular bore. But I have a whole lot of .535" balls that I inherited. I'm thinking that pillow tick patch may be too thick. I may have to go with a .010" or .015" patch.

hello, i have read a ton of infomation and talked to a lot of fellows over the last 2 years about black powder shotguns. Over those 2 years I found 3 people that seem to know what they are talking about and you are one of them. I just joined this forum tonight and posted a question in the black powder forum about the t/c new englander. i saw that you have one and would appreciate your help. I am looking for a 12 guage barrell, if i also buy a new englander .54 or .50 rifle if the 12 guage barrell will fit...meaning can you "swap" a .50cal and a 12 guage barrell in a new englander. thank you in advance for your help!

I saw your post. And I guess I must decline the invitation to join your forum. Good luck with it, what ever it is. But I personally am not interested.
