Default Newcomer to bowfishing

Had a friend at work tell me about bowfishing, prior to this I've read some about it but don't know too much about it. I'm from Pontiac/Bloomington and looking for places to start bowfishing at. Have a 14 footer with a 25 horse and trolling motor. Any tips or information for a newbie?

Down the road is clinton lake it is full of common carp, with a few buffalo from time to time. Just cruse the shore line or the many coves to get out of wind or traffic. On a weekend impossible to fish the lake edges. The back end of coves will always pay off. Aim low and letter go

Yes, I purchased an old bear black panther off ebay to set up just for bowfishing so I don't have to use my deer bow. don't have the bowfishing part though, was going to buy the ams pro retriever kit

AMS retrievers are the best! There are some places like bowfishingextreme.com or backwaterbowfishing.com where u might be able to get the retriever and arrows for cheaper than buying the kit. But if u buy them separate make sure u get the slim nocks so u can put on the slides that come with the retriever. On those sites its usually cheaper to build ur own arrow and they will put it together for u. I would recommend the Cajun long barb piranha points
