Sad day, puttin the boat in storage tomorrow, I always new that this day was coming.
On the bright side, my cousin marty of big head fame came out last week to hunt a couple of days with me. He is out of state and settled on a $27. doe tag which he filled the first morning. His first ever with a bow. Bought a second tag that afternoon. This time it took a day and half to fill this tag. Shot a huge doe, she ran 80 yds. field dressed at 140# by my scale in the garage. Not bad going 2fer2in2days. Billy K followed that up a day later by shooting his first deer for the year. Just starting to see a few punk bucks on their feet. Going to get good..

Yesterday, I arrowed a nice 130# doe as I was watching 7 long beards. The long beards were feeding around me for 1/2 hours in a big blow down, I just could not get a clear shot when the does came by. Stange the turkeys did not flush when I shot. Then just went to ground and looked around to see what was going on. When I moved so did they. Was pretty exciting morning.
