Default Carlyle bigheads

Went to the spillway over the weekend with a buddy. We shot 26 bigheads, had 3 pull off and a lot of misses. We were both in front of the boat shooting on the 3 count. We ended up with 4 doubles.Would have been 5 but that was one of my pull offs.We started putting fish on a stinger and lost it.I guess we need another bucket.

Nice shooting. Did you get any with some size? Lately we have just been shooting them under 20 pounds. Did you try going down stream any? Wow, what a blast.

Saw only 2 down stream. One made it into the boat.Lots of small bigheads or silvers where down stream.Shot at least 1 20#.Had one I think was heavier but didn't weigh it.The rest were smaller. We did it just like you showed me last summer Johnny.Ya it was a BLAST!!!

ok so now if you had a choice, would you go after bigheads or silvers?

I cast my vote for the bidhead.I can see silvers almost any time. That was only my 2nd. good bighead trip in a 1 year period.

Had a some luck when I went Sunday. Shot a HUGE bighead, weighed at 50+ pounds. I barely got him in the boat as I shot it in the tail section. There was bigheads poping everywhere on the east side of the bank around 2:00. Had a blast though, can't wait to go again. Next time I'm taking the camera too!

Cannot speak for the other guys, but there are gar everywhere especially down stream. Down there they are laying around every piece of structure and are easy picking. Up by the spill way they just pop un and down. For the most part they are small short nose gar.

Near the ramp and down the stream a little ways is where I see the biggest gar.
