Default 45# Bighead taken near Channahon.

Suckersticker (his family calls him Bill) sent me a pic of a nice Bighead he got on the DesPlaines during this last week. I'm heading out there tonight with Fishpoint and a first-timer.
I hope to get a shot at a good one like this...

Cool! Congrats Bill Jr! Good luck Bulz!

Carptracker wants fish parts from big bigheads like this. Let me know if you get one.

Will do Miss Prez.

For anybody else coming across big ones, here is the thread with what our resident biologist is looking for...

Nice to see a picture of a fat bighead for a change. All the ones I see these days are thinner at the dorsal fin than at the head. If I see any at all.

Back home at 2am. Didn't see anything big, but saw enough to keep it interesting. Got a half dozen or so. Mix of carp, buffalo, and 1 gar. Nailed the gar while it was hauling a$$ away from the boat on the edge of the lights. Generator problems killed our lights, so I'll be playing this game by daylight til it's fixed.

Got the new guy hooked. Even though he never quite connected, he did manage a few glancing blows, and will be joining me again soon.

We had a great time - the last gar we saw was huge. It is still out there. I haven't taken a look at the generator yet. I am hoping it is something obvious after I remove the cover.
