carlyle tournament april 24

Henkels Hook and Arrow is puttin on a tournament this saturday the 24th at carlyle lake. Starts at 10 a.m. at coles creek boat ramp for anyone thats interested.

April 24, Henkel's Hook and Arrow Bowfishing Tournament. Coles Creek Ramp. Starts at 10 am. BAA Sanctioned. call (618) 594-4818 for more details.

Coles Creek Access is on the South East side of the lake. It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere until you get to the lake. It's a nice ramp tho'. Our tournament on May 1st will allow trailering. I think Henkels will also.. tho' I'd call to get specifics.

I picked up a flyer last weekend from the bait shop and it says...

Henkel's Hook & Arrow
2010 Bowfishing Tournament
-Take off from Coles Creek 10:00am - 6:00pm
-Shoot as many fish as you want but weigh in your biggest 5 of each carp, buffalo, and gar
-Big fish pot optional $10 (weight only)
-Must be in weigh in line by 6:00pm
-Corp will provide spot for fish disposal
-Registration at boat ramp prior to start $20 per man. 2 or 3 man teams to boat.

Though I did ask if trailering was allowed and he said we could put in from any boat ramp we wanted, spillway off limits.

I would like to go to the henkels tourny but looks like its going to be pretty nasty weather. 15 mph wind and scattered thunderstorms. Not telling anyone not to go but if you do be carefull. Carlyle gets dangerous in that weather. If you hear sirens get off the water fast.
