Default Newbie Intro

Figured I would drop an introduction. I am not a member of the Illinois Bowfishers Club...yet. But will be eventually.

I am new to the sport. I went out a couple of times in 2009 with a buddy that is fairly new to the sport. After the first time out, I ended up buying an AMS FishHawk package and have been out once this year already. I need to practice shooting a bit more, as I missed 3 times yesterday on the Kaskaskia.

At any rate, I live in the Fenton, Missouri area but work in Sauget, Illinois; so hitting the waters close to work is what I am hoping to do. I enjoy the board and just wanted to make an intro.

Welcome aboard Matt !!
You got out sooner than I did this year. Still working on the boat, and it's been windy up here by Chi-Town anyway.

We've got events coming up not too far from you in the next months. If you want to get in on one of them, and need a spot on a boat, there are usually a few slots available. Just post in the event thread when it gets close.

Have fun whacking the fish this year.

How ya doing Matt? I'm not too far from you, I live near Florissant. Maybe we can shoot together some time.

You ever bowfished in the Meramac in George Winter Park?

@jmbuckhunter: I have only fished the river out of George Winter Park once and never really looked at for bowfishing. It is a river I definitely want to check out though once we get a deck on my buddy's boat.

@Everyone Else: Thanks for the welcome. And yeah, all Easter weekend I was getting text / emails from a buddy who hit the Kaskaskia on Friday and in St. Charles missouri on Sunday and did pretty well wading and shooting.
