Default Shelbyville Clarity?

How's the clarity at Lake Shelbyville? I am wanting to make a trip over there tomorrow for a chance at some big gar. Kinda worried that all this rain is going to make the water like chocolate milk.

How you been Jake?

The clarity should be OK for gar. They tend to stay in the deeper water so it should be alright still.
Maybe not great but OK.

Good Luck!

Well, I went out last night, Dave was out there also. The clarity is only like 6", can see the gar lightly, should clear up in 3 days, unless get more rain.

The clarity varried depending on the cove we were in. The main area we fished had around 2-3 feet clarity. We had several opportunities at big gar and schools of big buffalo, but we couldn't hit anything. Ended up with 2 small (24-30") gar, onethat went 44-45" and a 12# buffalo. I'm embarrassed to say I missed more than one 5 footer. My excuse is that we have had no more than 6" clarity anywhere else we fished this year, so being able to see the fish at 2-3 feet was screwing with my aim point.
