Default Was thinking about a fun-shoot up north.

I think some of us should meet at the DesPlaines River up here and have a fun-shoot. There was discussion about something like this already, but nothing came of it. It's the areas that Mark and I fished alot last year and that Suckersticker has been shooting those bigheads, grass-carp and that 22# buffalo at. There's some pretty nice gar there too, although the biggest I think we've shot is my45 1/2"from my first day out on the boat. I saw one that was bigger and one about the same size that day.

There's a primitive launch that's free, but there may be some hassle with bigger boats, or boats like Kendall's pontoon that sits so high on the trailer. We can help each other push and pull em in and back onto the trailer if need be. Guys launch 18-foot jon boats out of there all the time with no problems. There's also a pay-launchlittle over a mile down-stream that costs $10.00. Three Rivers Marina, if you want to look it up. It's an easy run back upstream.

The area we shoot is on the north side of the DesPlaines, and westof I-55. It's the big open-area there (if you're looking at it on Google Earth/satelite-view). And on the west-end of that area is where the Dupage River feeds in. There's some areas of the DesPlaines Conservation Area that you can get to also.

I'm gonna see if I can do something about fish-disposal, so that may help get some of you guys up here. But I thought maybe we should get together some place different and have you guys up in our neck of the woods for a change. We can have a friendly little braggin-rights wager. And hopefully we can get Mark's boat ready by then so he can take out a couple people with him and I can bring an extra person with me, so Judd and Jason, you better come if we do this. And I'm sure William/Suckersticker would show.

Opinions? Interest?
