Default Des Plaines

Just wondering if anyone else has been out on the Des Plaines lately? I went out there last night and took outmy buddy zach to shoot a few. I shot 8 he shot none, but he had a good time and will be out there with me again, he likes it. We seen over 100 fish but i was letting him shoot so i didn't kill very many. I plan on going out again wednesday or thursday night hopefully. Let me know if anyone else is going out or wants to go.

I ran through there after Bass Pro the other day.
It was very murky and low.

Conditions any better yet?

Its still a little murky. But if you get out to where the dupage pours in by all the fallen trees and stumps it clears up a lot and you start to see tons of fish. I will be out there wednesday or thursday night weather permitting. So if anyone is going out there i will see ya there.

I walked the bank last Saturday; it took me awhile to locate the fishbut it was great shooting when I did. The gar were spawningin thebaynorth of the Kankakee Riverboat launch. It was like shooting at broom handles - I failed to connect. I did shoot 15 commons (3 doubles) and one quillback. Largest common was 11 lb 8 oz. (I got to use my new digital scale).

THIS WEEKEND WILL BE A PRIME TIME BEWALKING THE BANK.River level is good and it is supposed to besunny and in the mid-70's. I'll see you out there for the 'Memorial Day Shoot.'

I was shootingthe inlet right off the river.I shot most of my fish on the east side but all of the gar were spawning on the west side ~ 1/4 mile N.of the road.

I will definately be there on Saturday with my daughter and probably on Monday. Both days about 0600; I like parking in hunter parking lot 2. You are welcome to join us!

I always shoot in the morning; althoughBulz was nice enough to take me out on his boat two weeks ago at night. One good rule of thumb - if I don't see 'em splashing as soon as I set eyes on thewater, I move to another location.

Observation:the fish 'turn off'about 11:00 am.
