Default Got Me A New Toy

It has nothing to do with bowfishing but i just bought a 1982 Honda NightHawk SC750. Got it for $450 and it runs and is driveable. As a matter of fact it was driven to my house by the guy i bought it from. I will post some pictures tomorrow. i figured with gas prices as high as they are i can ride this back and forth to work and have extra money for bowfishing. Sorry just really excited it is my first bike.

First, I willtype the obligitory "Be careful!!"

Having said that.. Congrats on the new bike! Just Wednesday as I drove my truck 10 miles over to a spot to look for mushrooms, I passed a motorcycle for sale. I almost turned around to go look at it.Sure would save on gas for my short trips. On the other hand, I should dig out my bicycle because I could really use the exercise.

Have fun, be safe.

OK, but I don't want to hear that you don't have money for bowfishing supplies.

If Bill's truck is anything like mine, $450.00 is only 5.5 tanks of gas. That Honda 750 prolly gets 50-60 mpg. So heck, he'll have MORE money for bowfishing.

Congrats,
Like Christine said, be careful.

Even with the light, people don't see bikes. Keep that in mind at ALL times on the road. They will turn leftin front of you. They will change lanes into yours and never even know you're there.

The throttle and the brakesare your onlyfriends. Be ready to apply either one liberally.

That's why I gave mine up, too many close calls.

Good luck out there. Have fun despite my gloomy post.

Have fun!!!! if it's on two wheels it's lots of fun, especially if you've never had one. I got rid of my harley last fall cause I was tired of polishing it and tired of trying not to get hit by stupid people. it's like a giant game of dodge-ball and everybody has a ball but you. I'd be telling a lie if I said I didn't miss it.

Just keep your eyes open William, because it seems like alot of other motorists don't.

The only time I felt totally comfortable riding was when we were in large groups, or out on the country roads by my house. I hated riding in the city and in the built-up areas I always had my head on a swivel. I loved riding, but man it got stressful a few times.

I sold my bike last year for a down-payment for my wife's car. I'm glad I got the cash I needed but I miss it (riding) more than I thought I would. I still plan on getting a nice Softail some day, but it'll be a while.

Congrats and good luck. Just remember people aren't use to looking for motorcycles and even a 'little' accident on a bike is a big deal.
