Default Kamikaze Carp !!

No, I'm not talking about the jumping silvers.

Jason and I got a good laugh at the expense of an arrowed carp the other night on the Des Plaines. The fish took a shaft from Jason and then proceeded to swim directly under the front of the boat at max speed. The boat stopped almost instantly and we realized that the fatcarp had grounded us by wedging herself between our hull and the bottom. Had to break out the push pole to get off of her. I was quite amused.

The fish are getting smart this year, and are apparently willing to sacrifice themselves to slow us down. Fine with me. Still got her in the boat.

That's funny.

Just wait 'til you get into the big charging buffalo. We've shot them so they look a bit like unicorns and they've hitthe boat so hard they mess up the nocks. They alsodo well at tying the line around the troller. The bigheads down in KY have stuck me with my own arrow a couple of times while they're flopping. (I'm too much of a wimp to hold a floppng 30lb fish well)I always get cut up by the gar on Rend.
So far, I get the last laugh tho'.

We had one get my line wrapped around the troller prop too. I think that one got away though.

I think it's funny when they fight back! I always wonder what it's gonna be like putting a big gar in that little plastic boat of mine. I'm sure I'll be bleeding.

At the Carpbuster tourney, Kendall was the official 'Carp Tosser' while the fish were counted. Somewhere around carp number 700, he got a carp spine or rib stuck into his hand.He got a fast spreading infection and had to go to the emergency room for treatment. That's fighting back dirty.
