Well gang, suppose to be nice on Saturday, sunny an in the 60's. Any plans anyone? I know i sure want to go somewhere and do some wackin.

Jason (JRW) and I are taking the new boat on the Des Plaines river tonight (Friday) to give it a test run before the Billy Davis tourney at Rend.

I'm working all day Sat and I have plans in the evening, but I'll be out there in spirit.

The Mississippi is still out in a few places by Pleasant Hill, ILL..Going to go to some flooded fields and do some wading and shooting..

i wanted to get out this weekend but i broke my middle knuckle on my right hand and can not draw my bow. tho my dad and a buddy might go out to use my lights and i will video tape them. at least i am gonna get out. either that or i am going to catch some trout tomorrow.

Cliff, KBI-Prez and I went to georgetown lake (little vermilion river). 6 common carp. One 18 # buffalo and one 15 #. Had one larger than both of these fall off on second try to lift into the boat. Should have gaffed it or stuck a second arrow in it. Pretty slow night, water was really cloudy. lots of puff's just could not see them.

I Hit Clinton Walking the Banks Sunday... Got 11 Common Carp... The No Carp for Deb Curse has been lifted
Wasnt seeing them till the afternoon when I found them in groups in the shallowslounging near the top of the waterunder overhanding branches on the bank and near logs etc. By 3:00pm they were jumping out of the water and were everywhere in the shallow coves out of the windfeeding and stirring up the mud... I shot one female full of eggs and I'd say she would go 11 or 12 pounds.
Yah the water is still pretty murky at Clinton made it tough to see them sometimes until they were right near the top of the water I just had to watch for tails near the top as they were rooting around in the mud..

Way to go Lady Forge! You need to hook up with Slim for a bank walking team at Billy Davis. We really, really need slim to get a bank walking partner, so the rest of us will have a chance. Even with his new fan boat with no motor and him using a push pole we will be in trouble. help
