I use to use a hack saw to do it and be carefull when you get to the end as to not splinter it but now we order em so they are about 2-4 inches longer than the end of the bow so we don't have to cut them. Also its nice cuz if the tip starts to break off or get busted/don't function right anymore we can cut it off and still be able to put a new tip on it without having to get a whole new arrow cuz teh arrow is still long enough for the bow. I wrap the arrow with a piece of electrical tape right where I want to make my cut. Cut it almost through, turn it over and finish the cut on the bottom side. Then I touch it up with my bench grinder. I have a old grinder wheel for stuff like that. You will not get any splinters.
Silly me, I always use my arrow cut off saw. I'll cut all that you want if you can ever make it over this way, but the cuts don't have to be perfect as most fish heads have more than enough swage? to hold it on the shaft if glued and/or pinned
