Allseason,

Bigheads don't jump. Silvers are the jumpers. When we run the river we occasionally have grass carp jump into the boat too.

It's hard to get jumping fish pictures.

First two arefrom Sam Wood's first bowfishing video outing. (IL River at Peru)
When we were out with Sam making his DVD, we saw literally thousands of the darn things. (and got hit by too many)

Third photo is from J Jenkins of the University of Missouri.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

Chris Brackett of Brackett Outdoors sent me this.

Gotta love it!

I figured you've been around bowfishing long enough to know better. A lot of people do think they both jump tho', so I thought I clarify that.

They hybrid bighead/silver crosses kind of porpoise out of the water, not really jumping clear out. They're easy to shoot when they do that.

You need anything else, let me know.

Here's my only live bigheads photo. I should have taken more last year, but I was too busy shooting them.

It's hard to see them with the glare, but you can see how big their mouths are.

Makes me wish for summer. Floating along, seeing their mouths open while feeding, picking the biggest one, and WHAM! Hang on tight 'cause they're taking the boat for a ride.
