I didn't even put in for a gun tag. Kendall bought me a nice scoped barrel for my shotgun and I'm hoping to get it sighted in by the second season. I'll be trying for the stand-by tag then. This weekend is for getting caught up on all the things that have been piling up while I've been goofing off bowhunting.

Good luck to the gun hunters.

Okay, so where's all the deer? I know someone shot something today. The weather's perfect and the deer are moving everywhere.

I have to work so you guys better post some pictures and stories for all of us who can't hunt this weekend.

i shot a doe on friday the 16th. she was one of the bigger mature does we have been chasing. she was following a little 6 point through some thick brush, but he ran the inside and she ran the outside giving me a 35 yard quartering away shot. i am shooting a 20 ga. with open sights so it was perfect. she stopped and i shot and hit right where i was aiming. she only went 25 yards and piled up, i put my sabot slug right thru her heart. so now i am back on the ducks. no pics though my camera was dropped while duck hunting and isn't working right. but i did get some pictures on my phone for braggin purposes. how did everyone else do?

Last Sunday I slept in till noon. My son didn't want to go, so I sat in his stand. Windy and 80 degrees. 10 points and field dressed at #173 - nothing large, but enough for one person to process by myself.

Congrats guys!
Nice bucks there.

I might get out for the second season, but not this one.
I'm painting a friend's condo this weekend. I hope she likes the pink and black camo pattern. [8D]
