Default Big heads's

Yesterday, Saturday 10/6 Snuffy and I put in a full day of bowfishing. Well acturally he came out and put in a few hours in a tree stand here at the house. We took off and drove over to mohomet to the water treatment plant and shot some 15 common carp. Left there around 1pm went back to danville got the boat and lights and headed to Alton, IL on the Mississippi to shoot some big heads. Got there around 8:30 loaded up and it the water. We jumped a ton of small silvers, I mean small like half pounders. Shot 13 big head with 25#6 oz being the largest. They were not up on any numbers, took some looking but they were there. We loaded up at 6:30am and headed for home. Got home at 9:30. So was up 26 hours for me and 28 for snuffy. Probably last long trip for the year. Will probably just stick to around here. may be even try and shoot a deer if it ever cools down.

Sounds like a great day.
Gotta love those bigheads!

Where do you young guys get the energy to stay up so long?

Here's some of Johnny and Snuffy's pictures;

You might find a couple of carp here.

This is the beast Johnny and Snuffyused to get after 'em. Look close those are 4X8 sheets of Plywood.

Johnny B with some of the damage they did at the treatment plant.

Snuffy with a two-hander.

Another nice fish.

That smile says it all.

Just was wondering does any one have any experience in shooting big heads this time of the year? As the water cools down do they still come up? oh so many questions.

IMO, it is better now that the water has cooled than in the summer time. We have had some good trips lately. http://www.aimlowproductions.com/journals_bowfishing.shtml

I would say this weekend will still be good, but I am finally hitting the woods instead.
