Fishing was tough this weekend down at shelbville. The water is going back up so the fish were up in the weeds, and the water was not a clear as it has been. We managed to only put 11 carp in the boat from 3pm to 6. Met Snuffy just after dark, he and cliff started out, My cousin Marty and I did as well. I shot my first buffalo out by the island just as we started. Though we were in for a good night. 5 Hours later we boated the second fish. Do not know if it was the full, moon, weather, water temp or what. But the fish were gone. We did manage to find a lot of buffalo out on the main lake points. But as they do, they just explode and is some pretty wild shooting. I managed to get one 13#, one around 8,. all told for the day and night shooting between two boats we boated only 27 fish. It seems so strange to me but marty and i only seen 2 gar. Let along shoot one. Cliff and Snuffy seen them all night and boated 6. all small. Our batteries gave out around 5, so loaded up and headed for home, just as the bass boats started to show up. My cousin had a good time. Of course he had not done it so could not compare it to a good night. He shot hit the the fist fish he shot at. That was nice.
