Default deer hunt?

well i have started to draw 25lb again. I hope to be back up to shooting shape by october. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together for a illinois bowfishers deer hunt? My grampas cabin @ golconda had a tree fall thru it and it is being repaired. not sure if it will be done by mid oct or not. I have access to another place for free camping w/ elec and well water. or we could just bring tents and camp anywhere on the shawnee national forest. I have hunted all over down there and during bow season rarely ever see anyone else. there are plenty of deer but it isnt like pike county. after hearing everyones horror stories about the over crowded public land thought maybee i could show ya somehting a little better. I realize it is a long drive for almost all of ya though.

Glad to hear you're getting along that well.

I'd love to give the Shawnee a try. Of course we might have to slip down to KY for some bigheads also.

Hey slim, I gun hunt down in Golconda (pretty much on the Ohio river). It is the same place where they filmed the movie U.S. Marshals. You are correct that there is plenty of deer down there. They run like cattle!

early october or november. right now there is very little water down there. I sat on some water holes down there last fall early like this and was seeing 15-20 deer a sitting. it is even drier now. I got a invite to go with a big group the 19-21st of oct. Also the last 2 weekends i have have been riding with a girl from effingham and we are supposed to go riding the last weekend of the month if it dosent turn sour before then. what works best for everybody else?

It wont go sour until duck season then you will find another until bowfishing comes around. They need to open a girlfriend season because right now there isnt much time between deer ducks and fish
