it was nice to see that age does not matter in a shoot like this.

Thanks to everyone for making this a really fun shoot.
Todd for donating and cooking supper, Joanne and Dave for donating and cooking breakfast (especially for Joannes coffee. bless you!) and Dave White of Cajun Archery for donating doorprizes and Alex for delivering them.
BTW, Alex did you forget something?

It was good to meet some more folks and see "old" friends. I was really pleased to see the Allen crew make the trip. I wish they would've gotten into more fish. But then I wish we would've gotten into more fish.
It was nice to meet the Creason boys. We'll keep your barrel safe 'til we can get it back to ya.

I know I'm forgetting someone or something, but I still need to catch up on sleep before I remember.

Thanks again to Todd and all who helped. For those of you who haven't been to one of our little shin-digs, this is just about everyone. This group is always ready to lend a helping hand.

A big thanks to everybody!

There were some really nice fish taken. A new IL record big mouth buff (22 lbs5 oz.) taken by Alex Grableand a new carpsucker record (7 lbs 12 oz) taken by 14 year old Rob Mendenhall.

Indy boyz took first with 166.7 lbs. Their 22lb 5 oz. buff took big fish.

Snuffy's Snuffers took second with 139.8 lbs.

The Shelby Shooters took third with 130.5 lbs. They had the biggest gar (19 lbs)

I had a great time. Kendall and I got some decent carp (for Shelbyville) and several nice buffalo. We should have spent more time looking for gar since we only got two dinks. I thought our 119 lbs wasn't too bad for fifteen fish (the two gar probably only weighed 4 lbs together)

I'll get some pictures up later.

Once again you all put on a great shoot , even if TODD was in charge ...LOL

na seriously, it was a great time, the format was a little different and we didn't like it at first, but it was fun and kept everyone on edge for the shoot.....GREAT JOB ....

we spent a little more than 13hrs ( in one hole )to get our 7 Longnose for the weigh in, we new we had to have them. the buffs were crazy as i've ever seen ,,,,at one time we had about 40 of them blow up and take off the bank, it was awesome, we really wanted to keep on them.Shot 3 nices ones and went back to huntin longnose again.... till 9:30am.... fun ,fun....LOL

Great job to all the others as well, Johnny B, Snuffy and Shelby Shooters, we new ya were wanting us pretty bad, it was a close weigh in thats what makes it fun........

We won't be making the Drill And Grill ,so ,ya'll have Fun and Safe time and we'll see ya next year .................

Thanks,

Alex G.

Shelbyville was as usuall un-pridictable. Then so was the big 20 format that todd threw at us. We hit the water at 10 and did not boat a fish until after 12, all day shooting only netted us 6 commons in the boat. Did not even see a gar. Then the night changed again by 2am we had not boated a or seen a gar. Finally found two holes with quite a few and actually boated 14 gar. Had it not been for quill back counting we would have been in trouble. Who ever heard of shooting Shelbyville and only shooting 6 common carp. They were just not to be found at least by us. Was a trill to see Jake shoot a nice 14# Gar. Talk about some one getting excited. He had never shot a gar before this shoot, then to get a nice one, and on a very long not a chance shot. The fish was already gone under and he just threw up a Snuffy shot and nailed it. Too cooL..Along with everyone else thanks Todd, Uncle Dave, Joeanne, Kendall and our President for a good time as usuall. I too will not be able to make the Grill shoot. I'll have all the IB7C Stuff there tho...Was a very nice challange. It was also nice to at least come close to the Indy Boys. Still do not know how they do it when we found them sleeping. Alex said that they spent 12 hours in one gar hole, how many hours of that was sleeping? But any how thanks for letting us share it with you..

The Gina Boys barrel.

Once we headed down to the pavillion, I forgot it too. When we went back to hook up the boat trailer there it was. Oops. That's what happens when you stay up 30+ hours with only 2 hours sleep.

Oops again. was logged in as Christine.
