wabash again

7/11/07, went to the wabash again this afternoon. Got on the water around 4pm. Had a newbie with me. The buffalo and Grassies were really up. They are really sucking on the scumb. It too me about 4 times out to finally be able to tell the difference. The buffalo swim right under the scum and all you see is a round hole and bubbles when they are feeding. The grassies tend to stick a good part of their head out of the water. We managed a nice 15#15oz grassie and a 10 pound buffalo. My buddy hit three but never got one in the boat. I was letting him do most of the Shooting. If I had KBI OR Snuffy we could have filled the barrel. The water id finally clear, but really low. Some areas we could just barely get through with motor raised up, still plowing mud. Cant wait to go again. Did some one say the weekend is almost here..

I didn't know that. Don't see enough grassies to tell.

I'll have to get down there in the Spring if I don't make it this year.
This fall is going to be really busy for me, but I'll have more time after then.

Snuffy, Kbi-prez & I hit the wabash again yesterday morning. Was on the water by 8am. too early, sun was not high enough to get over the trees. From all the rain this week the river was up and muddy. Could not see down at all. Kbi-wacked a nice 12# common right off the bat. In fact that was the first common that i have ever seen there. Then Him and Snuffy doubled on a 15# grassie. I was acting as guide. Then Snuffy drilled a small gar. During this time I had 3 pull offs of a gar and two grassies. Finally boated a gar, so as not to get skunked. We did get a couple of shots at silvers. Snuffy just missed one. We had several hit the boat. My boat is just not set up to safely shoot at them. As i have a tiller motor. so the shooter have to stand in front of me and shoot over my head. We headed home at noon.
