DCA 05/04/07

I took the day off andfished the backwaters of the Des Plaines Conservation Area today. Weeds are up already and I saw a few fish flopping in the middle but not manynear the shore.

I broke theout the fishing pole and caught some nice bass and bluegills; biggest bass was just under 3 lbs. I think we are about two weeks away from the spawn.

It is amazing how fast the weeds hit the surface there.
2 weeks ago my troller was already feeling thier effects.

Creek temp a bit North of there is in the low 60's.
