Default Creek near Plainfield gives up a few carp.

I went wading today and got four carp out of a creek near Plainfield.

Lots of overhanging and submerged wood along one bank gave them lots of cover to hang in.So I put on my sneaky shoes and drilled a few.
Biggest was 15 pounds, then 11, 8, and7. Girls all stillfull of eggs.
Also shot a carp shaped log.

Got lots of "WOW" looks from passing commuters on my way back to the car. A few might have stopped to ask questions if the traffic wasn't so fast.

Where's the log?? Nice fish, Chris! Too bad they weren't like that when I was there! You shoot one of those this Sat. and I'll bet you'll win the biggest fish prize.

The CHZHeads are now in central fibland and ready to go to KY to practice for the tournement by shooting some bigheads! We have the filet knives with us so we can bring some "steaks" for the cookout on Sat.That way if anyone wants to try some, they can!

See everyone tomorrow!!!

'central fibland'

Good luck in KY!

We'll be down in southern fibland tomorrow afternoon. (around 3:30pm?)

All fear the mighty CIRFCU.

Maybe I'll bring it along and slip it into the pile.

Good luck with the Bigheads guys. I was hoping to join you, but I just can't get there any earlier.

I'm in. I'm not real big on fish, but I'll give it a shot.
You got a recipe for grilling them without frying?

Getting kinda personal asking a man about his log, especially if you have to ask where it is. []Sheesh.

Oh, and the water temp was 54. (getting closer)
No tailing, just hanging out, feeding, and a jumper or two.

"Central Fibland"? That must be south of the hee-haw line.

Congrats on the carp, Chris, and good luck to everyone this weekend. Between doing electrical work and stuff around the house, I'm planning on giving my flyrod a workout and seeing if any mushrooms have popped yet.
