Default Miss'ed

How do you spell missed! Snuffy came out this morning for opening day of turkey season. On our third set we called in three long beards. Had or decoys of two hens and a long bear with a full fan set up at 15 yds. The one bird actually jumped up on the back of the long beard decoy. Snuffy shot first right under his bird and I shot right over mine. We could have actually got off a second shot had we been more prepared. I have a small blind we were behind. Once they saw that long beard they came in at a full trott, talk about tunnel vision. It was a blast except for the misses. I had actually told snuffy that i thought we were too close to the decoys. I guess that is what we get for shooting fish at 10 feet or less. Cant wait until tomorrow.

It's easy to get used to that point blank range stuff.
Nice job getting the birds in so close. Not always an easy thing from what I hear.

Well Ole Snuffy and I went out again behind the house this moring. First thing called three jakes. They came up and walked all around the Decoys. I guess we are getting greedy as we were not even tempted to drop one. But wasa easy call as there were birds' bobbling all around us. Not long after this had a nice long beard come headed out way, but those three jakes ran him off. Later had another bird gobbling and headed our way, but a coyote spooked him off. Well last day tomorrow..
