Great job John !!
Very nice buck. [:-]

You keep doing that and your sis may just take up deer hunting just to compete with you.

Can't wait to hear the details.

Well as you know the rut is pretty well in full swing. At least it is here. So we decided to sit it out all day. Took lunch and plenty of water and good book to the stand. Around 9 had nice doe and yearling come right under me. My stand is between 3 new scrapes. Right at noon I looked down and could see this guy coming. The sun was shining on his coat and he just lit up. He walked right up to the first scrape at 20 yds and starting licking the licking branch. Glanced up at me and turned broad side and started going down this trail. At 12 yds ( I was at full draw), and just as I was ready to grunt to stop him, he stopped and looked up at me. The G-5 broad head was already on it's way. Caught him a little high right behind and slightly above the shoulder. Just did not aim low enough. You would think with all the carp i have shot his year, i would know to 'aim low and let'er go'. Well caught part of lung, and took out both femoral arteries that run up under the spine. He only ran 60 yds, but that was straight down in a deep ravine. We put him on a deer cart. I drove my bronco ll as close as i could. Then used a long 1/4 steel cable to pull him up the hill. It really worked great. The buck is a main frame 8pt but has two kickers for 10 scorable points. Snuffy missed a giant 8 pt yesterday, and we all have been seeing some real dandy's. just a matter of time.

Diana told me you had a lot of deer down by your place.
I'm so jealous. THat would be wonderful to see them without having to shiver in a tree.
