Coyote Bait

Is it legal to use bait (carp, gut pile, fish guts) to hunt coyotes in Illinois?

After you shoot the first one, just let him lay there and draw in the others.

Don't know about baiting the first one though, but curious.

I sure hope it is legal, because I sure wack a lot of them off deer carcesses. KBI-Prez brings me road kills and I stake them out in my back field at 200 yds. Just open the kitchen window and let my .270 with 100gr. V-Max do my talking. The joy's of living in the country. Right now waiting on the back corn field to get picked so I can get back to the action. They usually feed at night but will try and sneak back in for a last snack just at dawn. I set my camera up for a few days last year, and could not believe all the action all night long. That is why you have to stake them down, or they drag them off.

Thanks,I was going to try to put out some catfish bait, blood balls, about 2 hours before dusk and then try calling them in with a dying rabbit call. I've got about 14 acres that I hunt in Manhattan and I always hear the critters yelping right before dusk.
