Canada Guide License?

All,

Just curious, do guides in Canada need licenses or guide permits?

When I went bear hunting last spring my guide told me they all have to pass a test and they should have pin that states they are cleared to guided hunters.

It depends upon the Province. In Ontario, I do not think there is a specific law or requirement. I know for a fact in Manitoba though, they have to take a test and be certified in first aid and cpr. Those are the only 2 I have hunted, so, I can't speak for the rest.
